The Poni Shaft
The Poni Shaft was an air shaft, a vertical mining structure dug into the rock, with a depth of approximately 216 meters. It was used for ventilating the mining operations in the western part of the deposit. In the 1950s, it was reconstructed and reinforced with concrete. The surface buildings housed a suction fan, which venitlated the contaminated air out of the mine. Today, the ruins of these constructions can be seen along the Main Mining Trail.
Warning! Access to the Poni Shaft is strictly prohibited – risk of falling!
